Paul writes his love letter to the Philippians in which he shares his prayer that they discern what is of value for the Christian life. Being the word of God this is His love letter to us too. Lord help me to respond to your love, discern what is of value, and come to bear the fruit of righteousness in my life for the glory of your name.

Apostles
Jesus called his disciples Simon and Jude to be part of his inner group whom he also called apostles. Once the Holy Spirit came to the apostles, they were sent by God to proclaim the message of Jesus to the world so that others would come to believe in Jesus and share their lives with him. Lord help us to continue this mission and send us to tell of others of your love that the world may be renewed in a new relationship with you.

God's Children
St. Paul tells the children of Ephesus today to obey their parents. Regardless of whether or not our parents are still with us in this life, God is our Father and we are his children. Father, help us to be humble and obey you as we ought, that we may have a long life with you in your eternal home.

To Kneel
St. Paul gives us an example of prayer as he kneels before the Father to intercede for us in being rooted and grounded in love. Lord may we have the strength to kneel and comprehend the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge and live this love in the world.

Fruits of the Spirit
St. Paul tells us, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25). Lord, may your Spirit be made present in me through the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
